The Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP) are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1983. The bands’ music mixes elements of punk rock, alternative rock, funk and psychedelic rock. Current band members include Anthony Kiedis (vocalist), Flea (bass), Chad Smith (drums), and John Frusciante (guitar). Having sold over 80 million records worldwide, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of the best-selling bands of all time. They’ve had extreme success in the arena of alternative rock radio, hold the record for the most number-one singles (13), the most top-ten songs (25) and the greatest number of cumulative weeks at number one (85) As winners of six Grammy Awards, in 2012 RHCP were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
