T-shirt Cleaning and Care Instructions

T-Shirt Care

No matter what you call them, tshirts, t shirts, t-shirts, tees, band tees, band shirts, rock tees, the list goes on and on, they all have one thing in common: they need special care to get the most out of them and last the longest. Band-tees.com recommends the following care instructions to preserve your t-shirt, hoodie or ball cap. Remember, heat and heavy-duty washer settings are the enemy! Some Band-tees.com t-shirts are made of pre-shrunk cotton, but some aren’t, so be sure to read the care tags on your new shirt.

  • Always wash t-shirts inside out and use a gentle machine cycle in cold water.
  • Machine drying: Tumble dry on low heat.
  • Lay flat to dry to avoid possible shrinkage.
  • T-shirts should be ironed inside out using a low heat setting and with steam. The steam can help refresh the colors in the design.
  • Dry cleaning is not recommended.

Hoodie Care

Pretty much the same list of instructions for Hoodie care as you would use on T-shirts!

  • Always wash hoodies inside out and use a gentle machine cycle in cold water.
  • Machine drying: Tumble dry on low heat.
  • Lay flat to dry to avoid possible shrinkage.
  • Using the steam setting on the opposite side of the cloth from the image can help refresh the colors in the design. When ironing it’s a good idea to place the artwork face down on a piece of cloth or thin towel to protect it and your ironing surface. Always experiment with low-temperature iron settings first and use only what you need!
  • Dry cleaning is not recommended.
